St. Ignatius Church, SF

Sun Dec 17, 2000, 4 PM
Calvary Presbyterian, SF

The San Francisco Bach Choir’s annual seasonal celebration of lights, choirs, percussion, strings and brass will feature the repertory of our special guests, Coro Hispano de San Francisco and Conjunto Nuevo Mundo in spectacular joint performances celebrating the rich musical heritage of Spain and the Spanish-speaking New World.

From the ethereal strains of polychoral motets to jazzy dance rhythms of folk-inspired villancicos, this exciting triple ensemble will presents a luminous and joyful program of Renaissance and Baroque treasures from the splendidly diverse culture that inspired composers including Juan Bautista Comes and Carlos Mejia Godoy.

This program is supported in part by grants from the San Francisco Grants for the Arts/Hotel Tax Fund and Wells Fargo and Bank of America Foundations.
